Location: Guildhall Complex, Kingston & Richmond
Contract: 3 month contract with potential extension
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
Pay Rate: £24 PAYE per hour
Start Date: 1st December


About the Role:

This role involves delivering 1:1 and targeted group work with young people who have experienced peer-on-peer violence or bullying, aiming to reduce the likelihood of entering the cycle of crime.

About the Service:

ASPIRE (Adolescent Support in Prevention, Inclusion and Restorative Engagement) sits within the Specialist Adolescent Service of the Family and Adolescents Directorate. The service acts as the statutory Youth Justice Service, with a focus on:

  • Diverting children away from the youth justice system

  • Preventing offending and re-offending

  • Reducing custody usage

  • Contributing to multi-agency public protection and safeguarding

  • Adopting Signs of Safety, trauma-informed, identity development, and whole-family approaches

Service Vision:
"We take a child first, offender second approach and always work in partnership with children and families to build resilience and sustain positive change."

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate restorative justice interventions for both victims and children who offend, following the Code of Practice for Victims of Crime

  • Provide high-quality support and advocacy to victims of youth crime

  • Work alongside youth services and Project X groups to improve young people's confidence, social skills, and outlook

  • Support parents/carers experiencing violence from their children and facilitate restorative processes

  • Record all work accurately on Youth Justice and Social Care case management systems

  • Ensure restorative work is individualized, safe, and promotes positive outcomes


Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience coordinating work with victims in line with Victims Code of Practice

  • Experience conducting risk assessments for victim readiness in restorative processes

  • Effective partnership working within multidisciplinary teams

  • Addressing equality and diversity issues in practice

  • Knowledge of Youth Justice landscape, including Good Lives Model, Desistance Theory, Trauma-Informed Practice, Child First approach

  • Understanding of Restorative Justice principles for young people and victims

  • Ability to provide emotional and practical support to victims

  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records in line with data protection legislation
