Youth Worker
Location: Lambeth Town Hall, 1 Brixton Hill, Brixton, London, SW2 1RW
Contract: 3 month contract with potential extension (20 hours per week - primarily evenings and weekend work)
Pay Rate: £17.28 PAYE per hour / £22.43 LTD per hour (paid weekly via umbrella company)
Start Date: 29th December
About the Role:
To support the needs and development of children and young people at risk of offending, family breakdown, homelessness, sexual exploitation and criminal exploitation. The aim of the role is to provide early support to prevent escalation and reduce the need for specialist services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with young people and their families.
- Deliver creative, engaging outreach and youth work sessions.
- Support young people in education, training, and employment.
- Collaborate with YOS staff and partner agencies to deliver targeted interventions.
- Act as a positive role model, encouraging young people to make positive choices.
- Support delivery of reparation projects and restorative justice activities.
- Make appropriate referrals to relevant services (Early Help, CAMHS, Education, etc.).
- Ensure safeguarding and equality are central to everything you do.
Essential skills and experience:
- A recognised JNC Youth Work qualification (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and current legislation affecting young people.
- Experience working with children, families, and adolescents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
