Apprenticeships are a great way to build your skill set and gain experience, at any stage of your career. Most commonly, apprentices join programmes straight from school or college, but there can be opportunities to do higher-level apprenticeships alongside experienced jobs at any stage of your career. This is a great way to add valuable expertise to your repertoire.

To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2023, here’s a little insight into some previous and current apprentices at Service Care Solutions, and how their careers are progressing so far.

Apprentice Sales Resourcer to Recruitment Consultant

Keiron Miller joined us in December 2021, starting within our Criminal Justice team. He’s now progressed to a Recruitment Consultant recruiting for Forensic Mental Health roles in Preston, Greater Manchester, and Hertfordshire. When we asked how he’s found working for Service Care Solutions, he summed it up in three words: welcoming, rewarding and supportive.

It’s been great to have Keiron join our company and we really look forward to seeing how he continues to develop across the different divisions.

Pursuing a career in Human Resources

Skye Morrison joined us as an Apprentice HR Administrator in September 2021 having previously worked as a nursery nurse. She works within the HR function covering a wide range of administrative duties, including processing applicants for internal vacancies, and involvement in the onboarding and induction process. Since completing her apprenticeship, Skye has now progressed to HR Administrator, and her main duty is looking after internal recruitment, as well as other HR admin. In her words, she loves what she does.

It’s been great to have Skye join our company and we really look forward to seeing how she continues to develop within the HR function.

An exciting new marketing apprenticeship

Most recently, we partnered with The Juice Academy to pave the way for a Marketing Apprentice, the first time we have had an apprentice in our marketing team.

Abi Dickson is our new Social Media Guru, and she’s really making an impact. She wants to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible from her marketing apprenticeship, and she’s been learning about marketing strategies, how tone of voice is used on platforms, and the importance of branding.

Abi told us she’s looking forward to the session on capturing images and campaigns, in which they’ll spend time working on the latest social media platform, TikTok. Exciting times ahead!
