What does your role as a Recruitment Consultant involve?

My role as a Recruitment Consultant is focused on sourcing and matching the right candidates to vacancies within the Social Care sector across the South East of England. This involves understanding the needs of both the client and the candidate, ensuring that every placement is the right fit in terms of skills, experience, values, and long-term goals. I support candidates through the entire process – from initial conversation all the way through to securing them a role – while also maintaining strong, ongoing relationships with the clients I work with.

What does your day-to-day role look like?

Every day is varied, but typically involves advertising live social care vacancies, actively searching for candidates through various platforms, screening and interviewing applicants, and submitting applications to clients. I regularly liaise with hiring managers to discuss their requirements, update them on candidate progress and keep communication flowing throughout the recruitment process. My day also includes building my network, staying up to date with market trends and making sure both clients and candidates have a smooth, positive experience from start to finish.

What do you enjoy the most about your role?

I genuinely enjoy building meaningful relationships with candidates and playing a part in helping them secure work that really matters. The social care sector is incredibly impactful, and knowing that I’ve helped someone take the next step in their career – while also helping organisations support vulnerable individuals – is extremely rewarding. Seeing the difference a successful placement can make is what drives me in this role.

Relationships – because my role is built on trust, respect and communication. Recruitment isn’t just about filling vacancies; it’s about forming genuine partnerships with candidates and clients, understanding people’s goals and challenges, and being consistent, reliable and supportive throughout the whole journey. Building strong relationships is at the core of what I do every day.
