Personal Advisor – 18+ Care Leavers Service
Location: Birmingham
Rate: £20.01 per hour
Contract: 3 months (with potential to extend)
Hours: 36.5 per week | Monday to Friday, 8:45am–5:15pm

We’re currently recruiting on behalf of Birmingham Children’s Trust, who are looking for a dedicated Personal Advisor to join their 18+ Care Leavers Service. This is a brilliant opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of young people transitioning into adulthood.

About the Role:
You’ll be supporting care leavers aged 18 to 25 on a case management basis, helping them with their Pathway Plans, independence skills, and access to education, training, housing and employment. You’ll be part of a supportive team delivering a statutory service that meets all legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of care leavers and support their transition into independent living
  • Develop, implement and review Pathway Plans in line with statutory duties
  • Work closely with internal and external agencies to support education, housing, health and employment outcomes
  • Provide tailored support to each young person, promoting their independence, confidence and self-esteem
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records using electronic case management systems
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experienced in working with vulnerable young people (ideally up to age 25)
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
  • Able to build rapport and develop effective working relationships with care leavers and multi-agency partners
  • Knowledgeable about relevant legislation and local support services for care leavers
  • Flexible, resilient, and confident managing a varied and often challenging caseload
