Location: Chichester (Hybrid – 2 Days in Office)
Contract: 9 Months
Hours: Full-Time, 37 Hours per Week
Pay: £16 per hour (Umbrella) - £12.20 PAYE an hour)


West Sussex County Council is seeking a highly organised and reliable Administrator / Note Taker to join our team on a 9-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced and dedicated public service environment, providing essential administrative support across our services.

Key Responsibilities Reporting to a Team Leader, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of administrative tasks to support the team’s objectives. These include:
  • Taking accurate and professional notes at complex, sensitive, and confidential meetings.
  • Arranging and supporting large-scale events and meetings.
  • Coordinating statutory panels and tracking key actions.
  • Compiling and presenting information in clear, accessible formats.
  • Preparing agendas, reports, and detailed meeting minutes.
  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets and updating internal systems.
About You To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Proven experience in an administrative role within a busy and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Confidence and resilience in attending and supporting sensitive or emotionally charged meetings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly.
Work Environment This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week in the office and the remainder remote.
