Attendance Officer

Job Description

Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Attendance Officer to join their School Attendance Support Service on a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in Walsall. *Driving Licence, access to own vehicle and Business Insurance are essential requirements for this role.*


Location: Hybrid basis - home/school visits around Walsall Borough, WFH 1 day a week

Working hours: Monday - Thursday 8.45am - 5.15pm with 1 hour unpaid break, Friday's 8.45am - 4.45pm with 1 hour unpaid break. 37 hours per week.

Pay: £14.41 Per hour


Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the School Attendance Support Service with home visits to support attendance.
  • To liaise with schools, professionals, and other agencies to address attendance concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate records in respect of casework.
  • Contribute to the positive development and welfare of children and young people in Walsall.

Requirements:

  • Recent relevant experience within an Education or statutory setting
  • Proven experience working with young people/families and work with children
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business purposes
