Building Safety Manager

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in West Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Building Safety Manager to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to manage and deliver a range Building related projects across the authority.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • design and specification of Building refurbishments including extensions, window replacements, roofing, fencing and general refurbishments for example flooring and decoration in accordance with current guidelines, standards and regulations.
  • lead in the Project Management and delivery of medium sized Building related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget to the quality expectations of external clients.
  • support the Programme Manager in the effective delivery of Capital projects for condition led schemes and external clients on all Building related projects.
  • manage the delivery of projects, having regard to risks, issues and planning including forecasting budget requirements and Project status reports on our Project Planning Management System to ensure quality is maintained and client expectations are met.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require a Diploma level in asset, building and / or compliance management (including Level 4 VRQ's; NEBOSH Fire Certificate/Diploma or Certified in Applied Fire Risk Assessment (previously FRA and Fire Safety Management, etc) or equivalent.

The below knowledge would be beneficial for the role:

  • Relevant management level knowledge and experience of Fire & Building / Structural Safety related to Social Housing.
  • Developing, mitigating, and reviewing dynamic risk assessments in order to keep people safe in residential buildings.
  • Using technical knowledge to develop customer facing Policy and Procedures.
  • Working collaboratively across a number of disciplines in order to achieve results.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £350 - £550 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
