Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in North Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Align Property Services team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing and property maintenance environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to support a housing stock review project across Selby, Harrogate, and Richmondshire, ensuring accurate surveying, condition assessments, and reporting in line with council requirements.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Carrying out detailed surveys of housing stock to assess condition, defects, and necessary repairs.
• Producing clear and accurate reports with recommendations for remedial works.
• Working collaboratively with the wider Align Property Services team to ensure project delivery.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• A recognised qualification in Building Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Proven experience as a Building Surveyor within a local authority or housing environment.
• Knowledge of relevant building regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong attention to detail and report writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload across multiple sites.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £25 per hour PAYE).
