Building Surveyor

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Cornwall is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their sustainable growth & development team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to assist the Building Surveying Professional Consultancy Manager in delivering arrange of minor capital works projects, reactive and planned maintenance programmes, across the client's and partners portfolio of buildings.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Liaising with internal and external clients as well as term maintenance contractors to deliver repairs, improvements, and refurbishment.
  • Scoping and specifying of works, the management of defect enquiries, issuing orders to contractors, checking and approving contractor works proposals and estimates, reviewing regulatory and inspection certification, monitoring, compliance standards and due date programmes, supervising work in progress, authorising variations, assisting with cost control measures, conducting pre, work in progress and post inspection audits.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require to have a relevant professional or technical qualification and membership of a relevant professional body or equivalent experience.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £22 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
