Job: Business Support Assistant
Location: Nottingham - Sutton-in-Ashfield
Hours: 37 per week (Full-time; part-time/job share considered)
Contract length: 3 Months (Potential Extension) 
Hourly Rate: £15.66
Department: Adult Social Care & Health, Nottinghamshire County Council
 
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Business Support Assistant to join our team, providing vital administrative, clerical, and financial support that underpins the delivery of high-quality adult social care.
Based at Lawn View House, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a meaningful area of public service, supporting vulnerable adults while working in a collaborative, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering a wide range of administrative, clerical, and financial tasks under the guidance of senior staff
  • Managing and manipulating sensitive information and producing complex reports as needed
  • Inputting and verifying data with accuracy and confidentiality, particularly around safeguarding concerns
  • Handling telephone queries and providing accurate guidance to colleagues, service users, and partner organisations
  • Supporting finance-related processes such as raising orders, reconciling accounts, resolving queries, and handling cash
  • Organising meetings and events, including minute-taking and action tracking
  • Undertaking reception duties, greeting visitors, and responding to general enquiries professionally
 
What We’re Looking For
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience with spreadsheets and word processing
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Previous experience providing business support in a fast-paced environment
  • A good understanding of data protection, confidentiality, and safeguarding
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and remain self-motivated
  • Minute-taking and information management experience
  • Customer service experience, with a helpful, solutions-focused approach
  • A flexible attitude and willingness to contribute across a range of tasks
Person Specification
  • Educated to NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy
  • Committed to customer care, service improvement, and high-quality outcomes
  • Experience working to defined policies and processes, with a focus on accuracy and compliance
