Calderdale Theatre Technical Manager

A Local Authority based in West Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Technical Manager to oversee work in the local theatre.
This is a full time, temporary position and the ideal candidate will be required to contribute to and support the positive customer focused outlook and culture of the venue.
The purpose of the role is to direct, manage and develop a safe, efficient and effective Technical Department and associated staff, services, facilities and equipment within the Theatre involving: electrical, engineering, rigging and lifting, lighting, sound, IT and special effects areas of operation.


The post holder will lead on managing the relationship with the Corporate Asset Management Team in relation to the wider management of the building, services and facilities; and will also lead on the design and delivery of Health & Safety policy and practice across all departments within the Theatre. The post holder is responsible for managing and reporting on the technical department budget, achieving income targets.

Manage, develop and support all staff working within the Technical Department including setting objectives, conducting appraisals and identifying and managing training and development needs and managing working patterns within legal guidelines.

Requirements:


Knowledge of a wide range of theatre technical systems, processes and equipment and how these systems ingrate efficiently and effectively in relation to production and event management.
Knowledge and experience of managing health and safety in a theatre environment and especially in relation to a wide range of activities relating to technical and production operations.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £20 - £24 p/hour Umbrella Ltd (approx. £520 - £600 p/week NET after deductions) dependant on experience and qualifications.
