Construction Contracts Solicitor
Job Description
A Local Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Solicitor to join their team. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of, and experience of drafting NEC and JCT Contracts. They will have experience of working on a varied caseload of high-value infrastructure projects and will be able to provide high quality legal and procurement advice.
Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of legal work in connection with the work of the team and to provide general legal advice to all client departments of this company.
- Assist Legal Services in maintaining the provision of an effective and efficient Legal Service to the County Council.
- Assist County Legal Services in maintaining the provision of an effective and efficient legal service to the County Council in compliance with the LEXCEL Office Procedures Manual formulated in accordance with the Law Society's Practice Management Standards.
Requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of, and experience of drafting NEC and JCT Contracts
- Experience of working on a varied caseload of high-value infrastructure projects
- Ability to provide high quality legal and procurement advice
- Ideally have experience of working for the public sector or advising public sector clients, including advising on the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and dealing with procurement's via Framework Agreements
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
