Temporary Join a dynamic and customer-focused team in Enfield as a Council Tax Officer, where you will play a vital role in the delivery of high-quality financial assessment and collection services. THE ROLE
As a Council Tax Officer, you will be responsible for delivering effective and efficient income assessment and council tax collection services as part of Enfield Council's Assessment Hub.
Key responsibilities include:
- Handling the assessment and determination of income-related benefits and other reductions
- Managing complex council tax collection and enforcement matters
- Providing high-quality written and verbal customer service support
- Responding to queries and guiding customers through assessment and collection procedures
- Maintaining accurate records of all customer interactions and case updates
- Working closely with other departments and external agencies to resolve issues
- Supporting continuous service improvement and automation initiatives
To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience working in a council tax, financial assessment, or similar local authority role.
You should also possess:
- A strong track record in delivering council tax collection or financial assessment services
- Experience with income-related benefit claims and change of circumstances
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid IT proficiency and ability to use relevant financial systems
- Evidence of continuous professional development
WORKING HOURS: Full Time, 35 Hours
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 3 Month Contract, Temp to Perm
RATE: The pay for the role is £23.00 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £19.74 per hour, inclusive of holiday. HOW TO APPLY
