Crisis Mental Health Nurse – Isle of Wight NHS Trust

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Crisis Mental Health Nurse to join the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team at Isle of Wight NHS Trust.

Location: Isle of Wight
Contract: Ongoing agency placement
Hours: Full-time and part-time available (including evenings and weekends)
Rate: £27.50 per hour (umbrella) for standard day shifts
Equivalent PAYE: Approx. £22.10 per hour
Enhanced Rates: Uplifts for nights, weekends, and bank holidays

About the Role: This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to work in a fast-paced crisis response environment, supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties. The team works to prevent hospital admissions by providing urgent community-based support and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Rapid mental health assessments for individuals in crisis

  • Short-term intensive interventions to stabilise mental health

  • Collaborative care planning with service users and carers

  • Liaising with GPs, A&E, police, and other services

  • Accurate and timely documentation of assessments and interventions

  • Participation in 24-hour shift rota, including nights and weekends

Requirements:
  • NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)

  • Minimum 6 months experience in a crisis team, HTT, or similar setting

  • Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred

  • Strong risk assessment and management skills

  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
