Job Opportunity: Contract Cyber Security Engineer/Architect

Service Care Solutions is assisting Lincolnshire County Council in recruiting a skilled Contract Cyber Security Engineer/Architect. This hybrid role requires a commitment of 3 days onsite in Lincolnshire and 2 days remote work per week.

Role: Contract Cyber Security Engineer/Architect
Location: Hybrid - 3 days in Lincolnshire, 2 days remote
Pay Rate: Up to £820 per day
Contract Period: June 2024 - November 2024 (potential extension)

Role Purpose

The Cyber Security Engineer/Architect will play a critical role in enhancing the security posture of Lincolnshire County Council. You will be responsible for defining, identifying, and specifying security countermeasures, managing projects, and ensuring effective vulnerability management. This role demands a strong technical and security background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of Cyber Security and engineering teams to identify, plan, and deliver cybersecurity projects.
  • Drive security improvements in M365, Azure, networks, and firewalls.
  • Manage and deliver change initiatives to enhance cybersecurity.
  • Communicate technical challenges and solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • Provide input to service and contract management with both in-house teams and delivery partners.

About You

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical security experience.
  • Strong skills in Azure, Microsoft Defender, M365, networking, and firewalls.
  • Self-motivated and capable of driving change and delivering security improvements.
  • Ability to analyze situations, communicate security contexts, and drive delivery.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and vulnerability management.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of security testing tools and formal standards (NIST/NCFC/CIS).
  • Experience with specifying and implementing third-party Security Operations Centers (SOC).
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP and Microsoft Security certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
