Background to the Role

This is an exciting time to be working within Learning & Development at the Metropolitan Police Service in an unprecedented year of officer growth ambition. Following the successful implementation of a large-scale transformation programmes to update training for new recruits to meet the unique and ever-evolving challenge of policing London, there is further opportunity for you to get involved with making London the safest global city in a time of unprecedented change within the UK's largest Police Service.
This is a 6 month role within the PEQF (Police Education Qualifications Framework) Centre of Initial Recruit Learning (CIRL), part of the Met's Professionalism Directorate. You will provide essential data analytics and insight to support the SLT to proactively manage one of the Met's key contracts with its academic partner. You will contribute to delivering data driven Operational Excellence for the Met, providing analytics and insight focused delivery, aligned to business needs and stakeholder drivers, with the aim of informing and optimising the learning delivery to all new recruits.

Role Description
This role is responsible for the gathering, collation and consolidating of data relating to the recruitment and learning journey of new Student Police Officers. Utilising data from multiple sources from across the organisation and external partners, the role will require the analysis, cleansing and transformation of data and subsequent interpretation into reports and dashboards that is concise, digestible and insightful.
This will include the dissemination of data across the supply chain, both internally and externally, in a timely manner to meet specific business needs around the enrolment and onboarding of trainee Police Officers.

Key Responsibilities
A priority will be to ensure that the PEQF continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of the business and the needs of new officer learning.
Primarily, your activity and support will be to the Operations Lead and CIRL management teams to present data in a way that is clear and useable to aid business decisions and assurance of learning delivery.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel able to gather, consolidate, cleanse and manipulate data from multiple sources
  • Problem solving; able to interpret business needs and deliver reporting platforms, dashboards, and analytical models vital for tracking and managing the business
  • Provide information on analytic results to business and functional leaders using visualisations to communicate data and metrics, effectively communicate and report (verbal and written)
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Solution orientated, able to interact and effectively influence stakeholders, building collaborative relationships as required
  • Effective communicator who can work with a range of colleagues and stakeholders

Experience and Qualifications

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Dealing with demanding challenges in a complex and operationally dynamic environment
  • Demonstrable capability of working on business analytics to meet business needs in a fast moving, complex and dynamic environment
