An exciting opportunity for a Decorator Technician to work for a housing association based in West London to join our Damp, Mould and Decorating team. The candidate must focus on delivering high levels of customer satisfaction and complete any job to high standards of the job specification. It is essential that every customer, internal and external receives a satisfactory experience by delivering on promises; give respect; be accountable; show kindness.
About the Job
You'll be responsible for carrying out damp and mould treatments, ventilation surveys and make good decoration to our customers homes. Top notch customer service skills, enthusiasm and a 'can-do' attitude will all be essential as you'll be an ambassador for the company as you go from property to property carrying out work to the highest of standards.
The job role will involve:
- Apply mould wash to surfaces
- measuring surface areas and working out how much paint or wall covering is needed
- stripping off old wallpaper or layers of paint
- filling holes and cracks and making sure surfaces are level
- covering surfaces with primer and undercoat
- applying coats of paint
- hanging wallpaper
- adding special finishes like glazes or marbling
- tidying up after finishing
- cleaning tools and equipment
Candidate Requirements
- NVQ / C&G (Level 2 Qualification Desirable)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous Decorator Experience (3+ years) Working in Social Housing Settings
- Experience with treating damp and mould (2+ years minimum)
