The Role
Key purpose of the role is to lead on the Council’s pipeline of property disposals, managing a caseload from inception to completion, ensuring best value and alignment with corporate strategy. The role also includes advising on wider estates matters such as valuations, acquisitions, and landlord/tenant work.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of a range of property disposals across operational and non-operational assets.
- Preparing and reviewing legal agreements and documentation associated with sales and related transactions.
- Advising on planning, highways, and development potential, engaging specialist consultants where required.
- Preparing detailed reports and presenting findings to senior officers, Cabinet, and various internal boards.
- Supporting strategic asset reviews and providing valuation and option appraisal advice.
To be considered for this role you will require:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Land Management, Real Estate, or a similar discipline.
- Full Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
- Significant experience in handling complex freehold and leasehold property disposals.
- Familiarity with local authority frameworks and the public sector disposal process.
- Strong understanding of planning and development appraisal.
- Effective project management and report writing skills.
