Disrepair Surveyor

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Nottinghamshire is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their asset team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a disrepair environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is the delivery of building and condition surveys, and project management services for the procurement and delivery of compliance related building alteration, demolition,

refurbishments and capital work packages, ensuring all property related statutory, regulatory and corporate requirements are met.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • undertake, manage and deliver a range of onsite property surveys, including dilapidation, legal disrepair, mutual exchange, property buy back and "Right To Buy" surveys.
  • investigate technical building problems and defects, to undertake defect diagnosis / building pathology survey inspections and written reports.
  • manage individual Capital and Regeneration projects/Disrepair works.
  • undertake contractual claim negotiations and to negotiate variations as necessary.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require a Degree in Building Surveying or HND/HNC level qualification in a building construction related field or track experience.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

  • Proven ability of carrying out accurate site and desk surveys, calculations and producing drawings, quotations, preparing and monitoring budgets and estimates for construction or maintenance work
  • Ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner to a diverse range of individuals and external stakeholders using a wide range of methods

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £27 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
