Service Care Solutions are recruiting a Registered Nurse to work within an NHS based Eating Disorders Service in Lancashire.
Shifts: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00
Contract Length: 3 Months+
Hours: Full Time (37.5)
Pay : £26.78-£40.78 (Ltd)
Location: Preston Lancashire
The service offers support to people who have been diagnosed with/meet the diagnosis criteria for an eating disorder. Predominantly offering support to people who meet the diagnostic criteria for Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and Other Specified Eating Disorder.
The service offers assessment, Therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Nutritional Support.
The successful applicant for this position will carry out assessments and referrals. These usually take about an hour and a half and can be a very anxious time for the service users so they would usually bring along a close friend or family member. The assessment will involve speaking to the service user about how they are, what is going well, and what they might be finding difficult (including their thoughts and behaviours around eating). It is common to complete physical health checks during these assessments such as monitoring weight. This is also an opportunity to support the family and carer providing research, support and education to help support loved ones. Following this assessment, referrals will be made to your GP, a written report of the assessment and a follow up care plan created.
The successful applicant must be a Qualified Nurse currently registered with the NMC and have recent experience working within Mental Health and/or Eating Disorder Services Services. The applicant must hold a full UK driving license and have a car suitable for work use.
