Energy Surveyor

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Worcestershire is currently recruiting for a Surveyor to join their Housing Repairs and Maintenance team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing maintenance and energy efficiency environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide an effective and customer-focused housing repairs and maintenance service, with a strong emphasis on improving energy efficiency and ensuring statutory compliance across the housing stock.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Undertaking property inspections including voids, tenanted stock, and energy efficiency assessments
• Preparing specifications for improvement works including insulation, ventilation, and heating systems
• Managing contractor performance and ensuring quality of works delivered
• Carrying out stock condition surveys and drafting contract documentation
• Monitoring and reporting on budgets related to energy efficiency and planned works
• Ensuring compliance with CDM, asbestos regulations, and other health & safety legislation
• Liaising with tenants, contractors, and internal departments to deliver capital projects and maintenance services

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require:
• A minimum of HNC qualification in a building construction-related field or equivalent
• Strong background in energy efficiency improvements – such as cavity wall and loft insulation, windows and doors upgrades, heating and ventilation systems
• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a building or surveying environment
• Sound knowledge of housing maintenance, Decent Homes Standards, and health & safety compliance
The following skills/qualifications are desirable:
• CSCS card and/or HHSRS qualification
• Accredited Energy Assessor status
• Experience using AutoCAD
• Knowledge of Schedule of Rates and procurement practices
You must also hold a full UK driving licence and have daily access to a vehicle.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £35 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £27 per hour PAYE).
