Job Opportunity: Finance Officer
Location: Middlemoor
Pay Rate: £16.66/hour
Position: Finance Officer
Purpose: Perform central purchasing and financial activities for the Alliance, including sourcing goods and services (ICT, travel, accommodation), processing payments, and managing financial transactions. Provide financial support to major operations and handle seized monies securely.
Main Responsibilities:
- Source purchasing requests and manage urgent orders.
- Liaise with suppliers for consumables and maintain stock records.
- Process invoices and claims accurately and on time.
- Ensure value for money and adherence to contracts.
- Administer receipt of goods and update the Force inventory.
- Raise sales invoices, manage outstanding debts, and perform cash collections.
- Record and reconcile income and transactions.
- Process payments using the Force banking system and assist with financial reporting.
- Respond to FOI requests and support audits.
Skills Required:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven administrative and financial accuracy.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Proficient in managing payments and maintaining accurate records.
- Experience with computer software, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Previous experience in finance or purchasing roles.
Special Conditions:
- Occasional work at other police stations.
- Flexitime system in operation.
- High integrity and excellent record-keeping required.
- Subject to vetting.
Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:40 AM - 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:40 AM - 3:40 PM
Office closed on Saturdays.
