Job Title: Floating Support Worker

Location: Birmingham
DBS Level: Enhanced Adult and Child (or both)
Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Car Driver Needed: Preferable but not limited.
Own Vehicle Needed: Preferable but not limited. Business insurance required if driving.
Working Arrangement: Hybrid - Potential for remote work

About Us:
The client is a leading Housing Association committed to preventing and reducing homelessness in communities across the UK. We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Floating Support Worker, specifically catering to the needs of the homelessness, young adults and substance misuse.

Main Duties:

  • Provide floating support services to vulnerable adults at risk of offending.
  • Work closely with the prison leaver cohort, offering guidance and assistance in their reintegration into the community.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to ensure a comprehensive support network for service users.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop personalized support plans.
  • Empower service users to develop independent living skills and make positive life choices.


Reporting To:
Service Lead

Key Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS clearance for both adults and children.
  • Flexibility to work 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
  • Ability to work independently in a lone-working environment.
  • A car and valid business insurance (if driving is required).
  • Empathy, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach to support work.
  • Working Environment:
  • This role involves hybrid working, with the option for remote work. The successful candidate will be responsible for lone working, providing support to the prison leaver cohort in various community settings.
