Health Surveillance Nurse - Police

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) to work as a Health Surveillance Nurse on a full-time, long-term contract with a local Police Force in Kidlington, Oxfordshire.

Purpose:
To undertake and ensure the efficient management of all health surveillance processes, undertaking clinical measurements of new recruits, pre placement surveillance screening for police staff, health screening for specialist police posts and the job related fitness test.

Main responsibilities:
Manage and perform health surveillance processes in relation to pre placement of police officers and staff as well as the health surveillance of officers within specialist roles. To ensure medical standards criteria is met in relation to recruitment, and specialised job role requirements.

Manage and perform health screening processes in relation to the job related fitness test and personal safety training for operational officers and staff. To establish officers and staff fitness capabilities to take the test and undergo training.

Help develop and implement systems to ensure recall and follow up medical screening takes place. Develop, implement and manage the introduction of new health surveillance initiatives. To support the ongoing health and wellbeing of officers and staff. Assist in the development of policy in relation to health surveillance matters in order to comply with current medical standards guidelines.

Essential Experience:

Registered General Nurse (RGN) with post-graduate experience

Proven ability to maintain information in a confidential manner as well as having integrity to ensure any information given is kept confidentially in accordance with the RCN Code of Practice
