Hearing and Witness Team Manager

Service Care Legal are working with a Scottish Inquiry, based in Edinburgh, which is looking for a Hearing and Witness Team Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for running Inquiry hearings and managing witnesses, including citation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run Inquiry hearings and manage witnesses
  • Citation and management of witnesses
  • Excellent organisational skills and people management experience
  • Systematic and methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Flexibility in approach to the role and a strong team player
  • Ability to flex and respond to competing priorities in the moment

Requirements:

  • Experience of Inquiry work, litigation, or group litigation would be desirable
  • Good understanding of GDPR and other data protection issues would be desirable
  • Solicitors are encouraged to apply, but the individual does not need to hold a current practising certificate and will not be working as a solicitor

Qualifications:

  • Litigation experience is essential
  • A degree in Law is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
