Service Care Solutions are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis, splitting time between CCM and HH. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire and develop students at all levels of their education.
Location: Manchester
Responsibilities:
- Teach Food Preparation and Cooking at Level 2 and Level 3, ensuring students acquire essential skills and knowledge.
- Deliver engaging lessons across all levels, including technical qualifications.
- Incorporate pastry skills where applicable, though not a primary focus.
- Guide and support students in achieving their academic and practical goals.
- Assess progress through practical assessments, assignments, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a high-quality, consistent learning experience.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing to curriculum development and quality assurance.
- Stay updated with industry trends, incorporating new techniques into teaching.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills.
Qualifications:
- CertEd or PGCE.
- Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (Level 3 preferred).
- Allergen Training Certification.
- Relevant qualifications in Food Preparation and Cooking (Level 2 and Level 3).
Experience:
- Proven teaching experience in culinary arts, ideally within further education.
- Experience in teaching technical qualifications is advantageous.
- Practical experience and competence in pastry skills, though not essential.
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple sites.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly to students at all levels.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a collaborative teaching environment.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire students.
