Housekeeper - Highbury - Strides

Service Care Solutions is recruiting for an experienced Housekeeper to join a small, dynamic team supporting a criminal justice service in Highbury. 
This full-time role (35 hours) offers a salary from £27,000 and requires a working week of Monday - Thursday 9am - 4pm and Saturday 9am - 4pm (Friday and Sundays off.
This role will ensure that our buildings are clean, safe, and welcoming environments for all users. You will work closely with the Soft Facilities Manager to maintain high housekeeping standards and provide a seamless cleaning service across multiple properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out scheduled cleaning duties and respond to reactive cleaning requests as needed.

  • Work alongside project managers and the Soft Facilities Manager to support the overall housekeeping provision, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

  • Maintain cleanliness in shared community spaces, counselling rooms, and residential areas.

  • Carry out end-of-tenancy cleans and prepare spaces for new residents.

  • Manage cleaning supplies and maintain stock control.

  • Ensure safe working practices and stay up to date with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and hygiene regulations.

  • Monitor the condition of buildings and report any maintenance issues.

  • Participate in staff conferences, team meetings, and other organisational events.

Person Specification:
We are looking for candidates who have:

  • An accredited qualification in facilities housekeeping or willingness to work towards one.

  • Experience in domestic cleaning duties.

  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe working practices.

  • The ability to work effectively with people in community or residential settings.

  • Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work with non-English speakers.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and IT systems.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability and carbon literacy.

  • Experience managing challenging behaviour and using strategies to support individuals in complex environments.
