Job Title: Housing Support Worker
Location: Liverpool
Contract Type: 6-Month Temporary Contract
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Housing Support Worker to join our team in Liverpool. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of single homeless individuals by providing essential support within a supportive accommodation setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Provision:
Provide support to single homeless individuals with diverse needs, including mental and physical health, alcohol and substance misuse.
Work collaboratively with a 24/7 team, consisting of 2 support workers and 4 concierge workers, to ensure the well-being and safety of service users.
Qualifications and Experience:
While formal qualifications are not mandatory, the ideal candidate should have significant experience in supporting vulnerable individuals.
Experience in liaising with external agencies and stakeholders.
Up-to-date knowledge of benefits systems and safeguarding procedures.
Housing Management:
Assist service users with housing benefit claims and monitor rent accounts.
Implement rent arrears procedures as required.
Conduct regular Fire Safety and Health and Safety checks.
Report maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
Manage voids and facilitate the induction of new service users.
Systems and Processes:
Knowledge of the Mainstay system is advantageous for effective referral management and support planning.
Familiarity with quality standards related to Housing Support services.
Understanding of Property Pool Plus and other routes into independent accommodation to facilitate service users' move-on process.
Requirements:
Enhanced DBS check is essential for this role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team and independently.
Flexible approach to work to meet the needs of service users.

The Package
This is a temporary, Scheme Manager role, 15 hours per week for an initial 3 months, covering the recruitment process for a permanent team member, meaning the role could be extended, or become permanent.
