🏠 In-Reach Hostel Worker – Substance Misuse & Homelessness Support
🕒 Full-Time | 3–6 Month Temporary Contract
💰 £20 per hour (Umbrella)
  • Umbrella Rate (Inclusive of Holiday): £20.00 per hour
  • Umbrella Rate (Exclusive of Holiday): Approx. £17.85 per hour
  • PAYE Rate (Inclusive of Holiday): Approx. £17.50 per hour
  • PAYE Rate (Exclusive of Holiday): Approx. £15.90 per hour
We are currently seeking a committed and compassionate In-Reach Hostel Worker to join a frontline service supporting individuals facing homelessness, often with complex needs including substance misuse and mental health challenges.
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct Support: Deliver day-to-day practical and emotional support to individuals in the hostel
  • Reintegration: Help service users build purposeful lives through social engagement, independence, and recovery planning
  • Substance Misuse Support: Provide structured support to those with drug and alcohol issues
  • Safeguarding: Ensure a safe and supportive environment for vulnerable adults, following safeguarding protocols
  • Record Keeping: Accurately document interventions, risks, and progress on client files and reporting systems
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Strong knowledge of homelessness, mental health, and substance misuse issues
  • Previous experience working in hostels, supported housing, or outreach services
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to build rapport, motivate service users, and de-escalate challenging situations
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working with a diverse client group and changing needs
📌 Additional Information:
  • This is a temporary full-time role (usually Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm), with a 3–6 month contract
