Independent Prescriber

Service are currently seeking a Registered Nurse or Pharmacist for an Independent Prescriber role. The position is with a Community Drug and Alcohol Service that provides support for issues with drugs, alcohol or mental health. As an Independent Prescriber, you will be responsible for clinical assessment, diagnosis and management in line with national regulations, policies and procedures.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Type of Contract: Permanent

Pay Rate: £39,000 - £47,000 (Negotiable depending on experience)



The ideal candidate will have:

* First level nurse registration or registered pharmacist (GPhC)
* Successfully completed the supplementary/independent prescriber course and hold an appropriate entry on the NMC register or GPhC register
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* A successful track record of delivering nursing interventions in a community setting
* Experience of health care assessments, care planning, and key working
* Knowledge of the issues affecting substance misusers, including the impact on their wider health
* The ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Strong organisational/time management skills
* Comfort and confidence using IT packages
* The ability to accurately gather and maintain records and information
