Interaction Designer Senior

Job Description

Service Care Solutions are looking for a Senior Interaction Designer in Manchester. As a Senior Interaction Designer you will be key part of Mobile team and will be working in a multi-disciplined product team helping to develop Mobile Apps for the Department. You will share your specialist knowledge and experience with the team to deliver Government services, products and tools which fulfil user needs. You will have an excellent understanding of best practice, prototyping and future developments. You will lead teams to work in an agile and multidisciplinary environment and will be comfortable managing senior stakeholders. Your focus will be on fulfilling user needs and understanding user journeys,
The roles and responsibilities for this role include, but are not restricted to the following:

  • Understand user needs and leads the design of services, products and tools to meet them
  • Demonstrate good working knowledge of interaction design in practice
  • Create and iterate prototypes to test and communicate ideas and help the wider team learn about user needs
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team in an agile environment to turn concepts into user-centred designs


Ensure that the design of services is consistent, both internally and with the rest of GOV.UK, across multiple work streams
Skill and Knowledge required

  • Prototyping
  • User centred agile and design practices
  • User centred analysis
  • Communicating analysis and insight
  • Experience of designing mobile applications for iPhone and iPads
  • Strong knowledge of designing for and differences in mobile use cases vs desktop experience
