Investigative Assistants - Police

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a large team of Investigative Assistants to work across the Greater Manchester region as part of the local Police Force.

Be advised, applicants must have served with a UK-based Police Force in order to be considered.

Main responsibilities:

- To attend reported crime scenes, interview and support potential witnesses and complainants, obtain statements, conduct house to house enquiries and CCTV trawls

- Provide support to officers in interviewing and handling offenders

- Conduct investigations, obtaining and reviewing all the necessary evidence such as Fingerprint, DNA, Footwear hit information, videos etc

- Assist others with the process of dealing with detained persons

- Work closely with victims and witnesses to keep them up-dated on crime status

- Prepare reports, complete prosecution files, itemise witness lists and exhibits for court, HQ, PPU and other agencies, ensuring timeliness and quality of the information provided

- Assist with the execution of warrants and undertaking searches

- The post holder will have designated powers under the Police Reform Act 2002 e.g., power to apply for warrant, execute and search.

- Where necessary, attend court and give evidence if required

- Liaise with other GMP Departments and uniform officers regarding crime trends, patterns, and intelligence

- Be prepared to undertake officer safety training, wear protective clothing if required and maintains the force dress code standard

Essential Criteria:

- Ex- Police Officers (PIP1 Accredited) or applicants who can evidence the required skills
