Role Overview:
As a Joiner working in social housing, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of carpentry and joinery tasks in occupied and void properties. This includes day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance, and refurbishments, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.

.Salary: The hourly pay rate for this role is £18.00PH Ltd (PAYE equivalent £15.19 Inclusive of holiday).

We are a trusted housing provider dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality homes and services to communities. As part of our continued commitment to excellent tenant care, we are seeking a skilled Joiner to join our responsive repairs and maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general joinery tasks such as door and frame repairs, kitchen unit replacements, skirting/flooring installation, and fencing

  • Undertake planned and reactive maintenance in tenanted and void properties

  • Deliver high-quality workmanship while maintaining a clean and safe work environment

  • Liaise professionally with tenants, housing officers, and team members

  • Ensure all works are compliant with health and safety regulations and company policies

  • Maintain accurate records of work completed via mobile devices or job sheets

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent)

  • Proven experience working as a Joiner, ideally within social or domestic housing

  • Full UK driving licence 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work respectfully in tenants’ homes

  • Basic knowledge of other trades (plumbing, tiling, etc.) is an advantage

  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
