I'm working with a forward-thinking North London Council who are looking to appoint a Lighting Manager to lead their in-house Lighting Team within the Climate Change & Transport department.
This is a key leadership role with responsibility for all aspects of the borough’s public lighting service – from delivering new lighting designs for transport and public realm schemes, to overseeing maintenance of existing infrastructure, and managing festive lighting and third-party equipment attachments (CCTV, EV charging, telecoms etc.).
You’ll also take the reins on a £2m lighting budget and manage their street lighting PFI contract. The role involves working across departments, leading a team of up to 5 staff, engaging with external consultants, and driving energy efficiency initiatives – including LED upgrades and sustainability projects.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in electrical/engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience managing street lighting design and delivery (AutoCAD, CDM, MS Office, lighting design software)
- Proven experience leading teams and overseeing contracts, SLAs, and financial controls
- A confident, proactive approach to project and stakeholder management
