Maintenance Manager

Job Description

A Housing Association based in East London is looking for a Repairs & Maintenance Manager to join their team. This is a full time, Permanent contract and the successful candidate will hold Full Relevant Surveying/Construction Qualification, extensive experience with Housing repairs and Maintenance, extensive experience with running teams of internal and external contractors and ideally experience within a similar local authority or housing role.

The main purpose of the role is to help us achieve our aim of having safe, well maintained properties that turn housing into homes. As an Operational Manager you are responsible for delivering on the direction and strategy set by our Board and Senior Leadership Team. With invaluable front line experience, this role holder can take the lead in the development of policy and procedure, and has responsibility for tracking performance against key metrics.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following competencies;

Experience of working at management level in repairs and maintenance environment, preferably within the social housing sector

Business acumen with a proven track record of setting budgets and financial monitoring and management of spend

Complaint / Disrepair / Insurance claims management experience

Problem solving, decision making and forward planning ability

Able to deliver excellent customer services to our tenants and residents

Degree or other professional qualifications in Building Construction/Surveying/Management or equivalent experience

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows;

Run a responsive repairs and maintenance service for approx. 1700 homes, spread across four North London boroughs

Connect with our customers, demonstrating care and attention through the service delivered

Be responsive to any customer complaints, and committed to putting mistakes right

Bring repairs and maintenance activities to completion on time and on budget

Offer positive challenge to the status quo and champion improvements

Lead in a positive and collaborative style, investing in the development of others, and provide line management for a small team of front line professionals

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such is offering a salary of £50,000 per annum plus a very competitive benefits package.
