A Housing Association based in East London is looking for a Maintenance Surveyor to join their team. This is a full time, Permanent contract and the successful candidate will hold Full Relevant Surveying Qualification, have experience within planned and responsive maintenance, experience with residential projects and ideally experience within a similar local authority or housing role.
The main purpose of the role is to inspect the client's buildings, specify, supervise and sign off contractor works. Additionally oversee the standards of work by contractors/operatives including major, cyclical and other works/repairs programmes, to project manage programmes and ensure budget compliance.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following competencies;
HNC or above qualification
Extensive experience in property maintenance
Extensive experience in housing maintenance
Experience of managing the work of contractors and consultants
Legal and Regulatory framework for Building construction and maintenance including fire safety & health and safety.
Sound judgement in relation to property matters
The main responsibilities of the role are as follows;
Apply professional, technical knowledge and drawing on experience to ensure that works programmes and responsive repairs are cost effective and of a high standard.
To provide technical support and advice to the Property Services Department.
To manage and supervise contracts for responsive repairs, major /cyclical works and servicing to ensure contractual compliance.
To inspect & survey PRHA properties, including the preparation of detailed reports, specifications, cost estimates and drawings where necessary.
To deal promptly and in a timely manner with all Environmental Health, fire notices or complaints from statutory authorities in liaison with the Head of Property Services.
The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such is offering a salary of £38,000 per annum plus a very competitive benefits package.
