The Role
Key purpose of the role is to work as part of the Building Services Team on mechanical services response maintenance work and, when directed, on mechanical engineering elements of the planned programme and capital works. The successful applicant will also lead and direct multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver improvement and refurbishment projects from feasibility to completion.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Provide guidance, specifications, and drawings for a range of mechanical services maintenance work.
- Assess planned preventative maintenance certification and reports, and agree repair and remedial works.
- Lead on mechanical minor works projects (e.g. boiler replacements) and provide input to larger multi-disciplinary projects.
- Commission and co-ordinate surveys, manage contractors, and monitor quality, costs, and programme delivery.
- Support the council in achieving its carbon reduction commitments relating to buildings and plant.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
- HNC / HND in Building Services (or equivalent).
- Working towards (or holding) Chartered Membership of CIBSE (or equivalent).
- Awareness of current construction industry-related Health & Safety legislation, ideally supported by relevant qualification/training.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other industry-relevant software.
- Strong project management skills across mechanical engineering and building services projects.
- Ability to produce clear, concise technical reports and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
