Job Title: Night Support Worker
Location: Plymouth
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Waking Night Shifts on a rota basis
Shift Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday night from 8:30 PM until 7 AM
DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS for Adults & Children is essential.
Contract Type: Permanent

In this vital role, you will provide overnight assistance to individuals to help them enhance their well-being, connect with their local communities, and effectively manage their homes. As a waking night worker, you play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and supportive environment during night-time hours, guiding and assisting individuals to meet their potential in various aspects of their lives.

Key Responsibilities:
Well-being Enhancement: Work alongside individuals to help them improve their overall well-being, providing emotional support, and assisting with any immediate concerns.
Community Building: Support individuals in making connections with their local communities, fostering a sense of belonging and social engagement.
Home Management: Provide guidance to help individuals manage their homes effectively, ensuring a secure and comfortable living environment.
Personal Development: Collaborate with individuals to support them in realizing their full potential in all areas of their lives, including education, employment, and personal goals.
Tenancy Advice: Offer guidance and advice on tenancy issues, including tenancy agreements, rent payments, and property maintenance.
Welfare Benefits: Assist individuals in understanding and accessing welfare benefits and support they are entitled to.
Financial and Budgeting Guidance: Provide financial advice and budgeting support to help individuals manage their finances effectively.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Compassion and empathy for individuals facing housing and well-being challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of tenancy issues, welfare benefits, and financial/budgeting matters.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance for both Adults and Children is essential.
