Job Description
Service Care Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Lancashire who are offering a hybrid working opportunity and are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join the team on a temporary basis. The Payroll Administrator will provide the efficient administration of a range of processing tasks within a high quality, accurate and time payroll and recruitment function, for a range of clients and in accordance with their statutory, legislative and contractual obligations.
Main Responsibilities
- The administration of end-to-end payroll, pensions and recruitment processing tasks for an allocation of services/employees.
- Deliver end to end Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) counter-signatory responsibilities.
- Manage and maintain employee personal files.
- Calculate payment on accounts and over-payments (including salary recalls and cancelled cheques) ensuring that all the required payroll adjustments arising from the calculations are correctly entered into the payroll system.
- Provide support to the on-going development of payroll and recruitment systems and procedures, to ensure statutory compliance and contribute to service improvements.
- Adhere to Council data protection policies and procedures.
Candidate Criteria
- Possession of, or the ability to demonstrate the capability to gain, relevant qualifications, licences or equivalent where applicable.
- Previous relevant experience or the ability to demonstrate the competence to carry out the job.
- Enhanced skills appropriate to the job discipline.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
