Job Title: Project Support Officer – Fire & Safety Improvement Programme
Location: Hybrid – Home-based with travel to HQ (Kidlington) and site visits in South Oxfordshire and Reading
Contract Type: 3-month temporary contract
Working Hours: 37 hours per week (08:00–16:00 Mon–Thurs, 08:00–15:30 Fri)
Pay Rate: PAYE: £17.53 | Umbrella: £23.15 per hour

About the Role:
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of Thames Valley Police for a Project Support Officer to assist with the Fire & Safety Improvement Programme. This crucial project spans various sites across the force area and plays a key role in ensuring the safety of police premises and staff. This is an ideal role for someone with strong administrative and coordination experience who enjoys working collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day support to the Fire & Safety Improvement Project
  • Assist Programme & Project Managers with planning, tracking, documentation, and reporting
  • Monitor project plans and support the delivery of key outcomes
  • Maintain project risks and issues logs, escalating where appropriate
  • Support meetings, take minutes, and help coordinate activities across teams
  • Use data and insight to recommend improvements and contribute to the overall success of the programme
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong initiative and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Great attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident using MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and departments
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle (for site visits)
Desirable:
  • PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification
  • Experience working in public sector or large organisation project environments
  • Previous experience supporting fire safety or H&S-related programmes (beneficial, but not essential)
