As a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist, you will focus on the assessment and diagnosis of Autism and ADHD in individuals aged 18+. You will play a key role in delivering compassionate, thorough, and clinically robust assessments that make a meaningful difference in the lives of neurodiverse adults.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structured developmental histories using validated diagnostic tools.
- Perform ADHD assessments and clinical behavioural observations.
- Review real-time collateral information (e.g., observer/home input).
- Provide clear, empathetic diagnostic feedback, with appropriate signposting and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team as needed.
- Submit comprehensive diagnostic reports within 48 hours (supported by full administrative and formatting services).
- Refer to NHS/ICB pathways as clinically appropriate.
- Remote-first service model, with optional hybrid/face-to-face assessments in Basingstoke and Canterbury.
- Flexible scheduling, with up to four assessments per day at your own pace.
- Availability options Monday to Sunday, enabling true work-life balance.
- GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist with a CCT in Adult Psychiatry.
- Proven experience in adult ASD and ADHD assessments.
- Up-to-date with revalidation and appraisal requirements.
- Clinically thorough, compassionate, and aligned with Psicon’s values.
- Comfortable working independently while supported by our clinical and admin teams.
