Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a full-time Band 6 RMN to work within the NHS on a temporary agency contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse to provide high-quality, evidence-based care within a 24-hour inpatient service.
The post holder will support the Clinical Nurse Specialist and Ward Manager by providing clinical leadership and acting as a role model to the wider team. You will deputise as required and contribute to the delivery of safe, compassionate, and effective mental and physical health care in a multidisciplinary setting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership & Care:
- Supervise and participate in the named nurse system for care planning.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate person-centred, evidence-based nursing care.
- Promote service user and carer involvement, supporting recovery and independence.
- Ensure compliance with the Care Programme Approach and Mental Health Act 2007.
- Administer medications safely and maintain proper documentation.
- Support therapeutic activities and maintain a therapeutic milieu on the ward.
- Provide clinical guidance to junior staff and unregistered team members.
- Set and monitor clinical standards aligned with Trust policies and national guidance.
- Participate in clinical audits, learning reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote collaborative working across the multidisciplinary team and with external agencies.
- Maintain effective communication with service users, carers, and stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate, timely documentation in line with Trust policies and NMC standards.
- Uphold professional conduct in interactions with colleagues, service users, and partner agencies.
- Support team compliance with policy and promote equality, diversity, and human rights.
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification with valid NMC registration.
- Experience in an NHS inpatient setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical skills.
