Repairs Surveyor – Hampshire-based Council
£28.00 PAYE / £35.00 Umbrella or Deemed LTD (Inside IR35)
37 hours per week
Temporary, Ongoing Contract

We are currently working with a Hampshire-based local authority to recruit an experienced Repairs Surveyor. Based in Gosport, this is a key role within a small, supportive team delivering responsive repairs and maintenance services across a diverse housing and asset portfolio.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct day-to-day responsive repairs inspections across a 3,000+ property housing stock
  • Diagnose defects, assess repair options and issue works orders accordingly
  • Update stock condition data and carry out measured surveys
  • Manage contractors, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with contractual terms
  • Liaise with residents and stakeholders to ensure high levels of customer service
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations including Asbestos and Working at Height
  • Carry out financial assessments and monitor value for money on repair works
Requirements:
  • Minimum HNC in Building Surveying (or equivalent construction-related qualification preferred)
  • Experience working within housing or commercial repairs environments
  • Strong knowledge of building pathology, construction legislation, and contract management
  • Competent IT user with experience using Microsoft Office and surveying systems
  • Excellent organisational, diagnostic, and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (Essential – mileage paid)
