Residential Care Officer

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Residential Care Officer to join a fantastic team of supportive and experienced colleagues making a positive impact on the lives of looked after children in the Doncaster area!

This position is:

* Permanent

* Full time - 37 hours per week

* £25,969 (up to £28,176 including 8.5% unsociable hours allowance for full time employees)

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing a warm, caring and enabling environment to meet the emotional, social and physical needs of looked after children and young people with disabilities and challenging behaviour.

  • Working on a rota of 7am - 3pm, 2pm - 10pm including weekends and bank holidays. This role will also require the candidate to undertake sleep in duties as required to meet the needs of the home.

  • Ensuring the safety and well being of individuals in your care

  • Assisting with daily living tasks, such as personal hygiene and meal preparation

  • Maintaining accurate records and reports

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children and young people, ideally in a residential setting.

  • NVQ L3 or equivalent

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work on a rota of days, nights, and evenings

  • Passionate about providing care and support to individuals
