Job Description
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in London for a Revenue and Debt Service Manager to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will lead on the administration, collection and enforcement of Council Tax and National Non Domestic Rates (NNDR), Housing Benefit Overpayments, Adult Social Care client contributions and Sundry debts for the Council.

Ensuring collections are maximised, for Council Tax this includes direct management of the in-house service and for NNDR management of the service that is outsourced to Capita. 

The postholder will support the Deputy Director of Finance using their initiative and business knowledge in securing the continuous development, improvement, efficiency and success of the department through effective leadership, budget management, strategic direction, planning, management and governance.

Candidate Criteria
  • Experienced Revenues/Debt Manager within a Local Authority  
  • Detailed knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates, enforcement legislation and regulations
  • Experience of managing an effective service including making strategical decisions to improve the service
  • Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
