Safeguarding Social Worker

Worcestershire County Council are looking for a skilled Children's Safeguarding Social Worker to join their team in Worcester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a local authority rated Good by Ofsted, where children are at the heart of everything they do.

The Role

As a Qualified Social Worker you will work with children who are subject to child protection plans, supporting families to address identified worries. You will be responsible for undertaking parenting and risk assessments to inform future planning and timescales. You will also initiate care proceedings when necessary and be part of a team that prides itself on adhering to the 26-week timescale in proceedings, ensuring children secure permanence promptly with appropriate plans.

The Company

Within their Safeguarding teams, you will be well supported by a Specialist Family Support team and a multi-disciplinary team consisting of substance abuse workers, domestic violence workers and emotional health and wellbeing workers.

The Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Experience of working within a Safeguarding team
  • Experience of undertaking parenting and risk assessments
  • Experience of initiating care proceedings when necessary
  • Social Work Qualification
  • Post Qualifying experience
