Job Description
A Local Authority based in Somerset is looking for a Service Manager - Client Accountant to join the team on a temporary 9 month contact to be responsible for the production of the Authority's statutory Statement of Accounts with significant liaison with managers across the Authority such as property and with external auditors. The post holder will lead the Authority's closure of accounts process, plan and direct all accounting processes, deliver financial training, advice the Authority on VAT matters and provide financial advice to the Director of Finance.
Ideal Candidate
- Fully CCAB Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA or Equivalent)
- Experience of working in public sector finance
- Extensive knowledge of financial accounting standards and VAT
- Experience of managing financial staff and delivering training
- Experience of close of accounts and financial planning
