About the Role: Lancashire County Council is currently recruiting experienced and motivated Children’s Social Workers to join our Duty and Assessment Team based in Fleetwood (Wyre CAPSS).
This is a critical frontline role, offering the opportunity to make a direct and immediate difference to the lives of children and families at the point of first contact with statutory services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake timely assessments of children and families in need, ensuring effective safeguarding and early intervention.
- Respond to new referrals and carry out initial assessments and Section 47 enquiries.
- Work closely with children, families, and multi-agency partners to determine appropriate outcomes and next steps.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case recordings and contribute to care planning where needed.
- Manage a caseload in line with service expectations and statutory guidance.
- A qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
- Skilled in conducting high-quality, evidence-based assessments
- Confident in decision-making in fast-paced environments
- Experienced in child protection, Section 47s, and working in duty/front door teams
- Able to build strong, respectful relationships with children and families
- Committed to working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies
