Service Care Solutions are looking for a Sport Instructor to work within the Eccles Sixth Form College on a Permanent basis.

Job role/responsibilities:
This is an exciting opportunity to support the Sport and Uniformed Protective Services Department as a Sport and Enrichment Instructor; with a focus on enhancing the study programmes of our learners with high quality sport and physical activity opportunities. The successful candidate will have a strong sport and physical activity background, with experience of planning, organising and leading activities.
- Plan and lead a range of high-quality, inclusive sports and physical activity enrichment activities for students based on current needs.
- Assist staff and students during practical sessions, including setting up and taking down equipment.
- Manage and maintain college sports resources and facilities, report issues, update equipment, and perform stock takes.
- Oversee ordering of goods and materials within the departmental budget as authorized by the Line Manager.
- Ensure safe use of sports facilities, adhering to Health and Safety regulations, and maintain security where necessary.
- Support SCC College Group partners (Manchester United Foundation, Salford Red Devils Foundation) in providing additional training opportunities for student athletes.
- Assist with the transport of students to external competitive fixtures and enrichment opportunities.
- Monitor and maintain bookings on the IT-based system and communicate with customers regarding availability and booking terms.
- Liaise with customers to ensure a high-quality service experience.
- Assist with preparation for college open and marketing events.
- Perform additional duties as reasonably required by the Line Manager.
Knowledge/Experience required:
- GCSE Level 2 in English and Maths
- Experience of planning and implementing a range of sport and physical activity opportunities for young people
- Knowledge of the skills & techniques and rule/law structures and safe practices of a range of sport and physical activities
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and legislation to ensure own and student and customer safety.
- Communication skills.
- Time management skills focussed on self-management and independent task setting.
- Problem solving skills and ability to deal with complex situations as they arise.
- IT Skills and an ability to learn and use appropriate and relevant online systems.
- A full and clean driving license
- Commitment and responsibility to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
- Commitment to College policies i.e. Health and Safety and Equality and Diversity & Inclusion DBS checks acceptable to the college will be undertaken for successful applicant.
